COTTAGE
As residents of the Cariboo, we love exploring our beautiful region. Hawkins Lake, which is also just minutes away from Ruth Lake and Canim Lake, is on of those very special little communities you can find in the Cariboo.

During the winter of 2019-2020 we found this enchanting character cottage that immediately stole our hearts. The place has something magical about it. It was build by a professional wood carver, mainly from recycled building materials. He lived and worked here for over a decade, and many of his amazing carvings remain on the property today.

After an extensive update and refresh period, we are now ready to share this amazing little place with the world.

Carver's Cottage is located in the small community of Hawkins Lake in the Cariboo region of British Columbia, approximately 45 km east of 100 Mile House, in the center of cottage country.
​
From the cottage you walk over to the shore of Hawkins Lake in 520 steps or drive 3 minutes to the public boat launch. A short 10 minute drive to the west, you'll find picturesque Ruth Lake which offers great paddling and fishing with easy access. The spectacular Canim Lake Provincial Park with an amazing pebble beach, picnic tables and crystal clear swimming water is located only 9 km to the east.
Nicely tucked away at the edge of the woods, the almost 1,000 sq.ft. of character cottage offers a not-so-ordinary spot to get away from it all for 4 guests. By special arrangement, a small guest cabin with two single beds is available on the property to accommodate 2 additional guests.

Settle into the comfortable chairs in the cozy living room with a book or with your device. Or spend family time around the large dining room table with picture windows looking out over the forest floor.

Cook your favorite dishes in the fully equipped kitchen and on the propane barbecue on the covered porch. Dirty dishes conveniently go in the dishwasher.
​
Alternatively, you can cook a rustic meal over the fire pit in the private back yard. Your fire wood and kindling are all ready to go.
​
Besides a large shower stall, toilet and vanity, the bathroom is also conveniently equipped with a washer and dryer.
​
Wake up in the spacious and romantic master bedroom after a restful sleep in the antique four poster king size bed. Next door, the kids have their own room with a bunk bed and a reading nook.
​
And yes! Guest have access to the high speed (fiber optic) internet connection with unlimited data. Binge watch your favorite Netflix series, have a family movie marathon, and stay connected with family and friends.
